Teaching Philosophy

I believe in taking an inter-disciplinary approach to teaching, paying attention to learning styles, having students work with real audiences, and integrating technology into the classroom. In addition to covering specific academic content, my approach to teaching will encourage students to take responsibility for their own learning, to develop skills which will lead them to lifelong learning, and to improve their critical thinking skills. Academic integrity and mutual respect between scholars will guide the classroom community.
